Getting Around Fort Myers Beach
Are you ready to enjoy Fort Myers’ beaches, restaurants, annual events and more? With so many things to do in Fort Myers, the question then becomes how to get around town. Luckily, there are loads of options to choose from—from water taxis to trolleys to golf carts.
By Land
Trams, trolleys and e-bikes – oh my! There’s no shortage of fun ways to get around Fort Myers and Fort Myers Beach on land.
- LeeTran Tram: LeeTran, a public transportation service run by Lee County, offers two options. First, there’s the tram, which covers the Fort Myers Beach area and is free to ride during peak season. A couple of the most popular stops include Lynn Hall Beach Park and Bowditch Point Park.
- LeeTran Trolley: LeeTran also includes a trolley system, which is a paid service that covers more of the Fort Myers city area. This trolley makes it simple to visit sites like the Edison Bridge, the Butterfly Estates and the Six Mile Cypress Slough Preserve.
- Fun-N-Sun Beach & Bike Rentals: While trolleys and trams are loads of fun, Fun-N-Sun provides a different transportation option: bikes! For just $30 per week or $90 per month, you can peddle your way all around Fort Myers and Fort Myers Beach. There are bike lanes, trails and parks all over town, so you can cycle through highlights like Lakes Park and Estero Boulevard.
- Quickie Cycles: Located on Estero Boulevard, Quicky Cycles offers bikes, e-bikes and scooters for rent. With its prime location, you can easily cycle to Matanzas Pass Preserve, Times Square and of course Pink Shell.
- Sun-N-Fun Sport Rentals: Last but not least, there’s Sun-N-Fun Sport Rentals. This Fort Myers Beach company is known for its quirkier rentals. In addition to renting bikes and e-bikes, Sun-N-Fun Sport Rentals also offers golf carts, scoot coops and 150cc Wolf Scooters. On any of these modes of transportation, you can easily make your way to must-visit Fort Myers Beach attractions like the Fort Myers Beach Fishing Pier, Lynn Hall Beach Park and Times Square.
By Water
Fort Myers Beach is surrounded by water, so it only makes sense that you can travel by boat as well. As a matter of fact, depending on the traffic situation, these water-based transportation options can often be a little speedier than traveling on land.
- Captain Butch’s Water Taxi Service: Hop aboard Captain Butch’s Water Taxi Service and avoid traffic on land. These water taxis take guests all around the Fort Myers Beach area for a maximum of $15 per passenger, depending on the destination. A few of the most popular spots to visit via Captain Butch’s Water Taxi Service include Bowditch Point Park, Mound House Historical Site and Doc Ford’s Rum Bar & Grill.
- Fort Myers Tiki Tours: Spice up your commute with Fort Myers Tiki Tours. With its thatched grass roofing and tropical cocktails, it’s definitely one of the most unique ways to get around Fort Myers. Fort Myers Tiki Tours start and end near Parrot Key Caribbean Grill on San Carlos Island.
- Key West Express: Take a day trip to Key West on the Key West Express. On this four-hour journey, riders can enjoy a full bar, befriend other passengers and keep an eye out for incredible wildlife.
The Pink Shell Resort & Marina is absolutely amazing! I took my fiancé here last week for a week stay for her birthday. I could not have asked for a better place. From the moment we arrived the staff were extremely polite, helpful, and very kind. The room was extremely clean everyday from the day we arrived until the day we left... The octopool is awesome, and jacks restaurant has a delicious breakfast every morning! We can’t wait for them to be back to 100% open and we will DEFINITELY be back! It’s an amazing place and well worth every penny!
What a find!!! As British we definitely appreciated the Malton brown toiletries, the bracelet that works as a door key, the bottled water and free tote bag! The room had brilliant facilities we were not expecting from coffee machine, full fridge, sink and plates etc. The staff were super friendly and I'm so sad we only had chance to stop one night.
This resort gets an "A" for effort! And views! And staff! And food! Fort Myers is recovering from the hurricane last year. I don't know how the Pink She'll has pulled it off but they did. They are up and running and doing an excellent job. Thank you for a phenomenal vacay, Pink Shell!
Absolutely loved this resort. We have twin babies and our villa was ready with all accommodations requested. Staff super friendly and helpful, the room was spotless and beautiful ocean and marina views. We will definitely return.
Amazing and heartwarming. The staff exceptional!! Breakfast what a treat hot and cold. The room perfect... Loved the screened in balcony right on the beach. What an amazing experience. Heartwarming on how everyone, every single staff member, with all they have and still are enduring, made this for their guests such an amazing experience I applaud everyone!!
The Pink Shell is a great place for a family vacation. They are on a beautiful spot on the beach, a short walk from Bowditch Point Park and close to Times Square,, with everything you need for a great trip. We stayed in one of the one bedroom villas and it was fantastic to have a full kitchen and laundry machine right in our room. The staff were friendly and helpful too. We'd totally go back.
